The group heads into the laboratory, Tybalt is figuratively salivating at the prospect.
They find a large group of orcs, along with a killa kan with a large saw. Around the room are various tubes containing people in some kind of suspension, labeled as ‘Experiments’ in basic ork script. There is also a small gretchin in a wheelchair, whose arms and legs are amputated, and who has various scripts and symbols on him, seeming like he is a demonhost. They begin fighting when the two groups see each other. Tord hucks a hallucinogen grenade in, making one orc see the other orcs as humans, who runs and attacks a weirdboy with imperial implants in him. Dariel mind controls the gretchin in the kan, which then turns and tries to saw the demonhost gretchin, which psychically raises a giant metal barrier inbetween them.
They fight back and forth for a while. Dariel attempts to compel the demonhost to throw his metal barrier at the kan, but barely manages to escape the mental contact without damage to his own psyche (hopefully?) At the very least, he has drawn the attention of the demon as potentially a more worthy host than the whiny gretchin.
The demonhost turns and tries to dominate Dariel, who is so overwhelmed from his contact that he is unable to effectively resist (double bad zeroes!!!) He is dominated by the demon, and his face begins to contort to take on the demon’s face. Tybalt standing nearby wracks his brain to try to think of useful information, but can think of nothing!
Priss rushes up behind the demonhost gretchin (the demonhost and kan have surrounded Tord) and smashes it for approximately a hojillion damage, but also breaks through one of the chains around it binding the demon. But the host is still alive!
Dariel tries hard to resist the power of the demon, and comes very close to being overwhelmed – he finds himself next to the demonhost, axe in hand, about to cut the remaining binding on the host, but manages to drop the axe before he does so. The demon, apart from the host, cries out in frustration.
Priss manages to take a called shot to the gretchin’s head, grinding her way through it as the demon is trying to force its way into Dariel’s mind.
After the fight, Tybalt inspects the log data from the lab – they were trying to recreate Phylus’ work, but trying to use xenos to bind the demons instead of Phylus having to do it himself. They seemed to support his idea, but wanted to save more human lives, expending worthless xenos in their place.
Across the way of the lab, there is another exit, which had been barricaded from the ork side, with scrawled signs saying to stay out.
