With Captain Jekus firmly in charge of the Navy, word comes back from The Lady Grey to immediately put him in his place. Her favors are not free…
Grecken is dead, Jekus is in charge. We hate him.
We stayed in the bomber until the flight deck was cleared. We headed to Jekus’ quarters, but his hallway was filled with functionaries and other jerks. We then went back to our shuttle to Maya’s ship. We contacted Jekus, and Zarkhov told him http://yourethemannowdog.ytmnd.com/ .
They waited for about 2 hours, and over the ship vox-com, they announced the new captain Jekus, who addressed the crew. They then left to head back to Maya’s ship. Maya asked them if they wanted to sent an astropath message to the Lady Gray explaining what happened, but she seemed very forceful about it, so they declined. She sent it anyway, just because she felt Lady Gray wanted to know about those kind of events. She also mentioned a vox-com message from the planet where some guardsmen were in trouble on the planet, and were not getting relief from the ship. This seemed normal for warzone planets, so they decided to head back.
However, Maya got a message back from Lady Gray, and she thanked them for their work, but said that they needed to make sure that he kept up relations between the navy and the guard, and that Jekus stayed aware of who put him in power, and who could then take him out.
They contacted him via vox-com. He listened to them, but downplayed the importance of good relations, and would not listen to them about changing his plans to send the fleet to scintilla. Basically as they were talking, he had decided they were beneath his notice now.
They landed on the ship, and were to be given VIP treatment, but were told in no uncertain terms that the commodore was far too busy to see them. They began devising ways they could gain access to him to put him in his place. They went to their cabin in order to begin devising ways, including breaking into his cabin, or fomenting a revolt of the ship gutter urchins, or whatnot.
Priss snuck away to go visit her crush or whatever, Rorak. He seemed stressed and haunted, and when she followed him, he grew angry with her, his son had apparently died in the ‘accidental crash’. They argued for a while about what serving the emperor meant, as he suspected they were involved in the death of commodore grackus, and he was not sure about the point of all of these machinations, and the death they cause.

However, Rorak did agree to help get them in to see Jekus. Meanwhile everyone else had come up with a plan to cut through the adjoining walls to his room using a lascutter. Or: torturing people until we get a meeting. Or, shooting gas into the room to knock him out. (but where do we get the gas?)
