The fight continues – Tord is still surrounded by monsters, but manages to fight off his battle lust to decide to retreat. Dariel creates an illusion to try to draw off the attacks of the creatures.
They manage to retreat back into the hallway they came in through, creating a chokepoint at the door. The rats they can see back in the hallway seem to be less motivated than before, and are just acting like normal rats. They managed to wear down the monsters through attrition, resulting in just giant piles of gore all over the room.
Tybalt investigates the mural in the room, but it seems to have been destroyed enough to not be useful for any more rituals. The people all have a symbol on them of two hands being outstretched. Tybalt does not recognize it as being a specific cult symbol. The cultists are carrying nothing.
The monster creatures are all wearing rags and tatters, they are all very mutated. We see one that is wearing good quality carapace and has a bolt pistol, and seems less mutated. This guy seems to be one of the operatives, though not Seddrax the brother.
There are 3 other doors leading out of the room, connecting to other pods. 2 of them are sealed off, and would need plasma cutters to get through. The other one was already cut through, and then re-barricaded with whatever junk they had around.
Dariel investigates the propaganda posters hung up, and notices a common theme of persevering and staying strong, until rescued and helped from outside, probably from the emperor. The posters seemed to be fairly old. The history they had heard of the hive was that before it was lost to chaos, it did regular trade, but people were not allowed to enter or leave. The trading was done through several layers of machines.
We are in pod Arcadia, known for fungus growing. To the left was pod Carapsa (‘Your Power Pod’). Straight ahead is pod Cesus (‘Clean Water for All’), the one with the cut out door, and the barricade placed from the other side. To the right, pod Vamrin (‘Security and Safety’)
