Tracking the stolen atomics, we head to the hive world of Malfi, a nasty place of intrigue and deceit. Stolen weapons have been found from the strike cruiser Akamelos on Malfi.
Weapons were taken from the strike cruiser Akamelos. They were sent to the hive Malfi, the second largest hive in the sector. There are 3 local gangs there, somewhere from there are some guns being run from the Akamelos. There are the Metallics, the tech themed gang, the Talons, who stay on the Eagle’s Nest, and the Black Thorns, of whom little is known.
Drake went to go buy all of their underlings some gear, which they were not all appreciative of (the cleric didn’t want to give up his vestments).
Tybalt noticed the lady gray being dismissive of subterfuge and sneakiness (and sensed this was why Valthrain was not included in the inner circle), so he suspected that any such would fall outside the lady’s notice, so he began making plans to steal his bullet (character goal!). He went to a local gun engraver to get his gun engraved, and also to make a duplicate bullet. The techpriest there was suspicious, and seemed to recognize the design, so Tybalt made up a story on the spot about using the bullet for a shrine in a memorial to his dead brother, who was killed by a similar bullet, and he managed to convince the techpriest enough to make it, albeit at a higher price.
Once on Malfi, investigating at the Metallics base found that the Talons seemed to be gaining power among the gangs, having found some new weaponry. Investigating with the adeptes arbites found that the gangs were getting more dangerous, and that the officers said that bounty hunters (like them!) shouldn’t go down there. They went to the Rusty Cog, which was a bar considered to be neutral territory by the gangs. There, there were some Thorns wearing some armor clearly taken from the ship, although covered over in gang colors.
They devised a plan where their new member Hastus would gamble with the Talons (and cheat), taking all their money. They would then leave, and the Talons would follow after them, where they could jump/interrogate them. Valthrain tried to ingratiate himself with some other gangers, but failed completely, as they figured out he was an outworlder. Hastus however, did well on his gambling, and managed to completely fleece them.
However, the plan didn’t quite work, as Hastur and Trina left to lead them out, and some left to follow them, but others stayed to keep an eye on those left in the bar, and so the group ended up split, in two parallel fights!
